Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Gwen Stefani hasn’t released a new album since her You Make It Feel Like Christmas in 2017, but based on Instagram posts from the past few days, fans seem to think new music may be on the horizon.

On Friday, September 6, Stefani, 54, shared a series of cryptic throwback images on her Instagram. The first photo shows her as a young girl holding a pink flower, then shifts to a more recent image of the pop star wearing headphones, looking upwards at something. She then shared a shot of a mug with the word “blossom” on it followed by a video showcasing a field of blooming pink flowers, which looked to be zinnias.

The minimalist caption featuring just a flower emoji, “💐,” paired with her comment, “Hummmmmm?” has only added to fan curiosity. The post quickly sparked a wave of excitement, with fans eagerly speculating about what might be coming next.

However, Stefani followed up the carousel with another mysterious post on Monday, September 9. This time, she posted a reel with a single orange flower blooming on top of a stark black background.

Fans were quick to put two and two together, leaving their excited comments on the Reel. “Such a tease, I LOVE it! Bloom girl, BLOOM!,” said one fan, while another exclaimed, “GWEN IM SO HAPPY YOUR BACKKKK.” A third fan declared, “👏👏👏👏I think another song is about to come out 😍.”

Others asked about the possibility of a No Doubt tour in the near future. “So is No Doubt going on tour or what…” asked one user. “Born to blossom a @nodoubt Tragic Kingdom 2025 -30th Anniversary TOUR!!! 😍😍😍,” another guessed.

The buzz comes right after the songstress celebrated the 20th anniversary of her hit album Love. Angel. Music. Baby., which will see a special limited edition vinyl drop this November.

While Stefani has yet to reveal the meaning behind the two cryptic posts, fans can see the “Don’t Speak” singer on the upcoming season of The Voice on NBC. However, the show may face delays due to scheduling adjustments around the U.S. election debates.
