Either way, the first-ever Golden Bachelorette has made it clear that she does not plan to uproot her life and has stated that she will “never want to leave” her family.

The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that Joan’s home, located in Maryland, was purchased in April 2022, a little over a year after her late husband, John Vassos, died of pancreatic cancer.

According to real estate records obtained by The U.S. Sun, the over 3,000-square-foot property was purchased by Joan for $830,000.

The value of the home, however, is now estimated to be worth about $944,000.

In a separate court filing, it can be revealed that she took out a $664,000 loan to purchase her townhouse that she promised to pay off in 30 years.

ALL IN THE DETAILS

Joan’s “meticulously maintained” four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home has four levels, according to the real estate listing.

The lower-level family room can be accessed through the large two-car garage. It includes a gas fireplace, full bathroom, and access to the exterior lower-level deck.

The main level of the beautiful townhouse boasts a sparkling white kitchen, which has updated appliances, granite countertops, a breakfast bar and a large pantry. The living room and dining room are also located on the main level.

There are refinished hardwood floors throughout, freshly painted grey walls, windows that bring in natural sunlight, and nine-foot ceilings.

The next level includes the primary suite, an updated primary bathroom with heated floors (and a heated towel rack!), marble tiled shower and oversized tub – which, of course, is much needed for Joan to relax after a long day.

The mom-of-four has a huge, organized walk-in closet – hopefully where she gets to store some of her gorgeous gowns from her season – plus two other spacious bedrooms, another tiled bathroom and the laundry room on level three.

Finally, the fourth level features the fourth bedroom, large storage unit, a cedar walk-in closet and two dormers as the roof structure.

LIFE AT HOME

Joan’s abode is located in a community with over 130 townhomes that were completed in 1998. The multi-colored brick properties are close to shops, restaurants, a popular park and the city’s metro station.

The school administrator regularly posts videos of herself with her fans from inside her home, such as sharing a how-to lesson on a home cooked meal, her reaction to watching The Golden Bachelorette episodes, or getting ready for a night out on the town.

Friends from The Golden Bachelor, Theresa Nist, Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts, even stopped by earlier this year to spend some time with the Maryland native for a girls’ weekend getaway.

Most importantly, Gerry Turner’s ex spends a lot of time with her four adult children, Allison, Nicholas, Erica and Luke, and her two grandchildren.

According to her posts, she especially loves taking her grandbabies for a stroll around her home.

Joan has explained that she doesn’t want to leave her hometown because “my kids and my grandkids all live really close to me and not being close to them all the time would not work for me.”

She told People, “They’re the most important people in my life. I felt that anybody that I would be a good match for, they would have the same family values as I have and would not want to leave their family.”

Either way, she said it could take “years” to “figure out a permanent arrangement” for her and her future spouse – if she ends up engaged at the end of the show.

“My thought was that, depending on your working status, you could go and spend two weeks at their house and two weeks at your house, or have another location where you would all gather and maybe each other’s families would come,” she explained.

The Men Tell All episode of The Golden Bachelorette will air on November 6, followed by the season finale After The Final Rose on November 13.
