GOLD Rush: Mine Rescue fans have been left concerned for Freddy Dodge after he appeared noticeably thinner in a recent episode.
The Discovery Channel star, who previously had a cancer scare, has not revealed any recent health issues, but fans fear the worst.
On Friday, Discovery aired an all-new episode of Gold Rush: Mine Rescue, during which Freddy and Juan Ibarra continued their quest to unearth gold out west.
Before the episode aired, Freddy took to social media to urge fans to tune in, posting a picture of some findings from a mine.
While Freddy did not appear in the post, fans in the comments seized the opportunity to check in on him.
In the episode, he did appear slimmer than he has in previous episodes though it’s unclear if that’s what sparked fear from fans.
Fans have expressed concern about him in the past, noting abrupt weight loss.
“Hey guys please check out an ALL NEW SEASON of MINE RESCUE WITH Freddy & Juan Tonight at 8:00 EST on @Discovery. Thank you and share if you would,” the star pleaded.
One concerned commenter asked, “Hey Freddy, Are you doing ok???”
Freddy appeared on Gold Rush before landing a spin-off series.
CANCER SCARE
During Season 8 of the show, which aired six years ago, Freddy learned that his doctors were concerned he might have cancer.
He underwent testing, which was documented on the show, and learned that he was cancer-free.
“They cut it out of me, and it was benign,” he shared with his friends and co-stars on a job sight.
Still, fans have worried for him at various times through the years.
YOU GOOD?
In 2022, following another episode of the show, a Gold Rush: Mine Rescue fan took to Reddit for answers after noticing changes in Freddy’s appearance.

“Does Freddy seem to look a little unhealthy? I know he has put on a little weight over the years but watching Mine Rescue this season he just looks like he is a heart attack waiting to happen. Does anyone know if something is going on with him?” wondered the fan.
A second responded, “Probably the wear and tear of running a business, being on the road and being on TV.”
“Freddy’s a real nice guy. I hope he is well,” wrote a third fan.
“I know he had a cancer scare a few years ago. He doesn’t look like he’s doing the best by carrying extra weight on that small frame. Hope he dropes some lbs to relieve the strain on his body,” a fourth supporter shared.
“A good sign is that he is out and about doing a bunch of things, some of which are reasonably hard labor. Much more concerning than if he was sitting at home in front of the tuve due to a lack of energy and mojo. I wish him well,” a fifth fan praised.
“He did have that cancer scare,” noted another.
