Former Fan-Favorite WWE Superstar Found the Perfect Home in AEW

Former Fan-Favorite WWE Superstar Found the Perfect Home in AEW

The WWE is often seen as the pinnacle of professional wrestling. However, given the nature of the company, only one person can be on top.

Because of this, multiple fan-favorite wrestlers are regulated to middle card or lower card positions despite their immense talents.

Fortunately, many of these wrestlers have gone on to have fruitful careers in other promotions. Most recently, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has served as the perfect place for these superstars to come out on top.

Many former WWE stars, including Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Swerve Strickland, Toni Storm, Pac, and many more have gotten more respect and created iconic matches that will stand the test of time.

After AEW All-In 2024, Ricochet’s name can be added to that list.

One of the greatest high flyers of all time, Ricochet has proven to be charismatic and unbelievably athletic in every promotion he’s been in.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t given the opportunity to truly shine in WWE. Yes, he had multiple titles, including the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE United States Championship, and the NXT North American Championship. However, he could do so much more.

After being released from his WWE contract, Ricochet has found a new home in AEW, and a WWE Hall of Famer thinks it is the perfect fit.

On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T revealed that he is deeply in favor of the former Prince Puma’s journey to AEW.

“I’m glad to see Ricochet have a soft landing,” Booker T said. “The kid can work, man. He’s definitely an extraordinary talent, definitely a next-level talent. I just feel like he fits a whole lot better in the AEW system better than the WWE system. But he got a chance to do the WWE thing, and that’s one thing a lot of guys wonder about that haven’t gotten to do the WWE thing.”

“I think for Ricochet to be able to have some of the outrageous matches that he possibly can have, that means going out there and just letting it hang out. That means you ask the boss, ‘What do you want me to do tonight?’ and the boss says, ‘Whatever you guys want to do.’ That’s what he’s got now. So it’s gonna be an unlimited amount of stuff you can see from Ricochet now that you couldn’t see before.”

Additionally, fellow AEW stars want to face off against Ricochet, including former AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin.

“I’d like to wrestle with anybody that has a point to prove,” Allin said to Metro UK. So, yeah, if he has a point to prove, he’s got that chip on his shoulder, let’s do it.”

Darby Allin is just one of many exciting opponents Ricochet could face off against, as well as Will Ospreay, Sammy Guevara, and Orange Cassidy. Hopefully, he’ll have the chance to show what he can really do.
