KENDRICK PERKINS has sounded the alarm on the New York Knicks defensive frailties.
The New York Knicks have lost five of their ten games in the Eastern Conference this season.
This form has seen the side slip to 5th place in the division behind the likes of the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics.
The Knicks won their last match against the Philadelphia 76ers 111-99 at the Wells Fargo Center.
However, Perkins is concerned about the team’s defensive capabilities for this season.
The First Take star and stand-in for Stephen A. Smith claimed that watching the side raises his “blood pressure”.
He said: “It is through the roof.
“My blood pressure is high when I watch the New York Knicks.
“They look great offensively, Karl-Anthony Towns has been putting up big numbers.
“But this team is known for having the best defence in the league, but this Knicks that I am watching is not it.
“It is concerning because you have to defend at a high level.
“I know they are missing guys, but even bringing them back, I don’t see moving the needle.”
Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has hailed his side’s strength in depth before the win over the Sixers.
He claimed: “We have more than enough and I love our depth.”
The team has recently had to deal with injuries to stars such as Precious Achiuwa, Kevin McCullar Jr and Mitchell Robinson.
The Knicks are back in action as they host the Chicago Bulls tonight at 7.30pm EST.
