NFL fans scoffed at ESPN’s list of the most overrated quarterbacks in the league.
The network put the list together by speaking to 103 NFL players from 25 teams and asking them six questions about quarterbacks.

And the results raised eyebrows.
Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen was voted the most overrated QB ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins.
Justin Herbert (LA Chargers), Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars), Deshaun Watson (Cleveland Browns), Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals), and Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers) also made the list.
However, Purdy also got the most votes for the most underrated quarterback.
Herbert, Hurts, and Tagovailoa featured among the top vote-getters in the category as well.
The rankings left NFL fans puzzled.
“This absolutely makes zero sense,” one posted on X while noting Allen and Hurts finished top 15 on the list of the 2024 season’s best 100 players, also voted on by the players themselves.
“Whoever said Allen and Herbert don’t know ball,” another added.

“Once again proving that NFL have no ball knowledge,” a third said.
“How can Tua Tagovailoa be overrated when he’s the most hated quarterback in the NFL? Yall sum weird mfs,” one wrote.
Mahomes was voted the best quarterback on ESPN’s list, finishing ahead of Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) and Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals).
Chicago Bears star Caleb Williams received the most votes for the rookie QB with Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders) coming in second and JJ McCarthy (Minnesota Vikings) in third.
Meanwhile, Allen finished top in the biggest trash-talking quarterback, beating Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets).
The Bills signal-caller will have to step up in the 2024 campaign having lost his best offensive weapon, wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Buffalo traded Diggs to the Houston Texans in the offseason after a year of rising tensions between the team and the star wideout.
Earlier this month, Allen acknowledged that the four-time Pro Bowler’s exit was a big loss.
But the quarterback wasn’t sure whether he would miss Diggs.
“Stef’s a great player, and what he brought to this team was special, miss is, I don’t know if I’d say miss,” he said.
“He was a guy that was reliable, you can look to, he’s going to have the juice each and every day.
“I’m sure he’s bringing it over there in Houston, so definitely you can’t say that you don’t miss that.
“But I am happy with what we got going on here and how hard the guys have been working.”
