ESPN has made a number of changes to it’s Thanksgiving schedule – including no Pat McAfee Show.
McAfee’s popular show usually airs 12 pm to 2 pm ET every weekday on the network.
But it will make way for live sport as Americans enjoy their holidays.
The Pat McAfee Show will air in it’s usual slot on ESPN on Monday and Tuesday.
But it will be bumped down to ESPN2 on Wednesday with college basketball on the main channel.
There will be no Pat McAfee Show whatsoever on ESPN on Thanksgiving or Black Friday.
ESPN has college basketball lined up on Thursday with college football on the network Friday.
First Take starring Molly Qerim and Stephen A. Smith will still feature in it’s usual slot throughout the week.
Get Up! will also continue in the regular 8am ET spot on Thursday and Friday.
McAfee, meanwhile, will be on College GameDay on Saturday at 9am ET.
And his show co-star Kirk Herbstreit faces a busy schedule due to a major NFL change.
Herbstreit usually calls Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.
He then races over to the site of College GameDay in time for Saturday’s ESPN broadcast.
But Amazon’s usual slot is taken by NBC on Thanksgiving.
The network instead will broadcast a Black Friday game with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Las Vegas Raiders.
The game kicks off at 3pm ET, meaning Herbstreit will face a late-night commute from Arrowhead Stadium to the site of College GameDay the following morning.
ESPN will return to normal programming on Monday, December 2.
Pat McAfee’s playing days
Pat McAfee enjoyed a hugely successful stint before switching to a career in the media.
The talk show star played punter in the NFL for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016.
He was a seventh round NFL Draft pick in 2009 out of West Virginia and spent his entire career with the Indianapolis Colts.
The ex-punter was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2016, and he was a first team All-Pro in 2014, as well.
McAfee owns the unique NFL record of the highest career net average punting yards with 41.4 yards while his longest ever punt was 74.
The Pat McAfee Show will be back in its regular slot at midday ET.
And the network will have it’s usual studio shows in the afternoon leading up to a Monday Night Football clash.
Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Co. will be in Denver, Colorado for the Broncos to take on the Cleveland Browns.
ESPN will also have their regular Friday night doubleheader on November 29.
The Los Angeles Clippers visit the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder face the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Cup.
