CAR owners have been loving a Dollar Tree auto exterior cleaning product dupe of a Target item that’s less than $2.
Buyers say they even buy multiple Driver’s Choice Microfiber Washmitts for $1.25 from Dollar Tree.
Nearly identical Wax Microfiber Car WashMitts are sold by Target for $6.99.
Dollar Tree’s car cleaning mitts for just over $1 are 8 inches by 5.75 inches while Target’s is just a smidge larger.
The item sold at Target is 10.8 inches by 7 Inches.
Dollar Tree says its microfiber mitts make “washing your car easier and more efficient than ever before!”
“Car detailers can count on these microfiber cleaning mitts to dust, scrub, and polish car exteriors and interiors for a professional shine every time,” Dollar Tree states about the product.
“Mitts are clear-coat safe, super absorbent, reusable, and can be used wet or dry for all sorts of jobs.”
They’re recommended to be used to clean and shine trucks, motorcycles, cars and boats.
The vehicle shining mitts have been rated nearly 5 stars by buyers.
One buyer said that they purchased multiple microfiber mitts from Dollar Tree that they use for many purposes.
“Recently purchased two green mitts to help with dusting items all around the house,” the buyer who rated the item five stars stated.
“Same day had to dust all my faux wood blinds and these did an amazing job at picking up all the dust and debris that lands on the blinds from the windows being open,
“Much better than my microfiber cloths. My kids saw how happy I was and offered to dust the furniture and our banister. Win-win!”
One reviewer who gave the washmitts five stars called it “excellent.”
“I purchased two of these at my local Dollar Tree store,” they added.
Dollar Tree pricing
Despite the name of the store, Dollar Tree recently added items that cost more than $1 to its inventory.
Most items at the store cost no more than $1.25, but items in the Dollar Tree Plus section cost up to $5.
Dollar Tree introduced Plus aisles to 100 locations in 2019 as part of an effort to diversify its products.
By 2022, Dollar Tree had added the items to over 1,500 locations.
“We believe testing additional price points above $1 for Dollar Tree products will enable us over time to expand our assortments, introduce new products and meet more of our customers’ everyday needs,” president and CEO Michael Witynski said in a statement.
“Our brand promise is that customers get great value for what they spend at Dollar Tree. We will continue to be fiercely protective of that promise, regardless of the price point.”

The cleaning mitts sold by both retailers have received a lot of comments from reviewers that give them high ratings overall.
