According to a report carrying his statement, Dhanush’s father called Nayanthara’s statement false. He said, “Work is important to us. We are running ahead. There is no time to answer those who chase us or those who talk about us behind our backs. Like me, my son is focused only on work. As Nayanthara said, waiting for two years is not true information.” Dhanush has yet to respond to this controversy.

Nayanthara revealed in an open letter to Dhanush that he denied permission to her to use footage from their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for the actress’ documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. After waiting for Dhanush to change his mind, the makers went with the re-edited version of the documentary. However, they used a three second BTS clip from the film in the trailer, which was shot in their personal devices and following this, Dhanush sent them a legal notice and demanded Rs 10 crore.
