Davina McCall in ‘quick update’

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Davina spoke directly to her followers.

“Hi, just a quick update to let everyone know that I’m doing well,” she began, updating fans.

“And the last couple of days I’ve really, really, really felt miles better, and I’ve come into London today to celebrate one of Michael’s boy’s birthdays, so that’s lovely.”

She then went on to clear up confusion around her new blonde pixie cut, which appeared in promotional shots for The Masked Singer .

“I just wanted to also say that the picture of me in the wig was from when we recorded The Masked Singer earlier on this year, before my operation,” Davina explained.

“So I was fit as a fiddle then. I’m still recovering right now and I’m planning on getting back to work in about a month. But I just wanted to let you all know, okay,” she said reassuringly.

In another snap, Davina shared a behind-the-scenes snap of her promo look.

Captioning the photo, she wrote: “Ps… we recorded this pre op.”

The Masked Singer returns

The photos were recently released ahead of the 2025 series. In the snaps from ITV, Davina is seen rocking a dramatic blonde pixie wig and a strapless pink leopard-print ensemble.

The stunning transformation is part of Davina’s tradition of experimenting with bold looks for the hit ITV show.

In the promo, Davina poses alongside her fellow judges: Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and newcomer Maya Jama, who replaces Rita Ora this season.

Host Joel Dommett will return to lead the guessing game as the team tries to uncover the identities of the singers hidden beneath elaborate costumes.

Davina’s video update came after her recent public appearance at a Christmas fundraiser for the Brain Tumour Research Campaign charity.

The event was held at All Saints Church in Fulham. It also marked the star’s first outing since undergoing surgery to remove a rare colloid cyst.

Taking to the stage, Davina became visibly emotional as she addressed the audience. “I’m crying already, that didn’t go well,” she admitted.

Reflecting on her personal connection to the cause, she also added: “I lost my sis to a brain tumour in 2012.”

Davina went on to speak about her own diagnosis. She also expressed gratitude for her neurosurgeon, Kevin O’Neill – who was in the audience.

The Masked Singer returns to ITV1 on January 4 at 7pm.
