The Adelaide Crows’ new logo has divided opinions but a particular detail has united AFL fans and has them in fits of laughter.
Some eagled-eye observers have noticed that the talons on the freshly designed crow appear to resemble the hands of Raygun while she was performing her viral dance during the Olympics (and has since given her global recognition).

In particular, it was the moment when she busted out the now iconic move with the right knee up, the back arched, and the hands hooked.
After observing Adelaide’s freshly designed crow, fans began to notice the angular similarity between the logo and Raygun’s position in that moment.
And with a simple 90-degree twist of the logo, suddenly there was (not quite a mirror-match) a strong similarity between the Crows’ crow and our beloved (maybe topical) Raygun.
Social media account AFL Fans Association was one of the early detectives who spotted the similarity (but there were others).
“Once you see it you can’t unsee it 😳,” the account said.
And fans were in fits and reactions were immediate, with compliments such as “superb” and “magnificent”.
“OK, that’s very good,” one fan said.
And another: “That is p*** funny.”
And another: “This is golden, thank you for your service.”
While another fan amusingly suggested Raygun “should sue for copyright”.
Another fan said: “Gold and a loud chuckle 😂😂😂.”
And a Port supporter said: “Omg that’s Gold! I’m a Port fan but honestly I liked the last logo of the Crows better than the new one. Just saying.”
The Crows unveiled the logo as part of a major brand shake-up.
It is the club’s first logo redesign since 2010 and Adelaide CEO Tim Silvers said it “represented the past and the future”.
“The logo is one of the club’s most recognisable features and our supporters take great pride in it,” he said.
“The throwback to the original swooping Crow reinforces our connection to this city and state by the way it now incorporates the actual shape of South Australia.
“We also wanted to make sure we celebrated our heritage but with a modern look and feel, which we think will resonate with our next generation of supporters.”
Before fans picked up on the Raygun detail, they lashed the simplicity of the design.
“It’s like going from Windows 10 to Windows 98,” one fan said on X (formerly Twitter).
While another asked: “Is Atari (the video game market leader in the 80s) making a comeback?”
In fact, the Atari reference was popular, with another fan saying: “I mean, if Atari had a screensaver in the 90’s.”
