COSTCO shoppers have fumed as the chain has abandoned a popular food court item.
A customer raged at the warehouse retailer for ditching one of its desserts that visitors adored.
Costco’s food court is famous for its good value food options people can enjoy after shopping.
Several shoppers reminisced about the chain’s hand-dipped ice cream bar on a Reddit post.
One person revealed that they were still in denial about the dessert’s disappearance.
“For 1.50 you get a forearm sized haagan daz vanilla bar dipped in chocolate and your choice if you want it rolled in almonds,” they wrote.
“10/10, I look for it at the food court every time and I’m disappointed every time.”
Another customer shared how this item became a key part of their family’s shop.
“Getting these at costco used to be a monthly tradition in my family. The day they stopped selling them was a sad one,” they said.
A third shopper added another food court item that they still reminisce about.
“I still mourn the hand dipped chocolate ice cream with nuts!” the Redditor said.
“Now they ditched the cinnamon rolls. Makes me so mad!”
COST-NO
This has not been the only change that has enraged Costco shoppers recently.
The warehouse chain introduced new scanners into its stores but some have argued this technology is a “violation” to short people.
A Redditor shared an image of a six-foot-tall price checker scanner installed at a location, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.
It is not clear in which shop the technology was installed or if other outlets also have them.
“Putting short people in their place,” one person wrote.
“I’m 4’11. How am I supposed to use this?!?” another shocked Redittor said.
“Living in a world designed by tall men is so annoying sometimes!”
Some Costco shoppers have also raged about a different type of scanner introduced into locations nationwide.
The warehouse retailer has brought in membership scanners at the entrance of many stores.
This would require people to scan their membership cards before entering a store.
Another Redditor blasted this technology for ruining their shopping experience.
“I have found shopping at Costco to become an increasingly unpleasant experience,” they wrote.
“You can’t buy a hot dog without having them scan your card, and I don’t know how having to scan your card the first time like some sort of prison badge is going to make that experience better.”
