Costco is offering a festive deal that’s bound to delight holiday shoppers.
With a nod to the giving season, this offer is more than just a practical gift—it comes with an unexpected twist.
Fans of the retail giant can now score a one-year Gold Star Membership for $65, now available as a gift card.
Details about the $65 “Gift of Membership” package, and the special surprise included, have already sparked excitement online.
User @costco.so.obsessed posted on Instagram: “Give the gift of a gold membership to Costco for $65 and a cute little tote.”
The gift comes in a sealed envelope and includes an activation card for the special membership, a tote bag and some helpful instructions.
The tote features a range of Costo-related cartoons, such as the iconic hotdog, a soda, a pizza slice, and a foam finger.
“Give a gift of lasting value, a gift that opens up a world of savings,” Costco says in its description of the item.
The card can be renewed by the recipient once their year is up and is valid for use at over 700 warehouses.
Despite there being no difference in price between the standard gold star membership or buying the gift of the same membership, Costco shoppers stand by the card as a perfect gift.
“Who doesn’t want a Costco membership?” one reviewer wrote online.
“I have given a few of these as Christmas gifts and all recipients were very grateful.”
The shopper went on to explain that he gifted his son in Hawaii a membership allowing him to make savings on food and other essentials while grocery prices elsewhere were “sky high.”
“Best gift EVER” another delighted shopper said.
“I highly recommend a Costco membership as a gift for Newlyweds, new parents, housewarming, college students…basically anyone who appreciates saving money while enjoying quality products.”
There is even an option for those who are feeling the most generous to upgrade the gift to an Executive Membership.

Meanwhile, Costco shoppers are going crazy for a food dupe that is a “fraction of the cost” of the original.
The Kirkland lightly breaded chicken breast fillets found in the freezer section are a “Chick-fil-A dupe,” according to Costco members.
One bag contains 10 servings, with each fillet weighing 138g and containing around 240 calories per serving at the cost of $12.99.
In comparison, Chick-fil-A prices range from $3 to $18 depending on the meal you get.
