Commanders vs. Ravens Betting Preview

Washington Commanders Betting News, Analysis

Everything for this team starts with Daniels, who is currently -230 at DraftKings to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

He’s played so well, in fact, that he’s currently in contention to win MVP (at DK, he has the fifth-shortest odds in the league at +1000 entering Week 6).

Optimism for Daniels and this offense surrounded his ability to run, but he’s already shown that he can beat teams down the field with his arm. Daniels is 101-of-131 for 1,135 yards passing, 4 TDs and 2 interceptions, and he’s averaging over five yards per carry on just over 11 rushing attempts per game.

While offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury’s Washington offense is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, this team does have some room for improvement on the other side of the ball.

The Commanders D shut down Deshaun Watson and Cleveland last week, but it has struggled this season against the best offenses it has faced. Washington gave up 37 points to Tampa Bay in Week 1, and it had to outscore Cincinnati 38-33 in Week 3.

On paper, this unit should struggle against Henry and the Baltimore running game, but that applies to the entire league right now. Skepticism of the Washington defense is likely the biggest reason this team is just -150 to make the playoffs despite its 4-1 record.

Baltimore Ravens Betting News, Analysis

The Ravens have officially shaken off their surprising 0-2 start. The Week 1 loss to the Chiefs in Kansas City was defensible, but questions arose after another L against the Raiders a week later.

The ground game has been rolling since, though, and Baltimore has strung together big wins over the Cowboys, Bills and Bengals.

Henry ran wild against both Dallas and Buffalo to help his team build substantial early leads (though Baltimore nearly fell apart late against the Cowboys), and Jackson lit up the Bengals last week.

With the O-line improving week after week, Baltimore looks like a Super Bowl contender as long as it can hold up defensively. Joe Burrow had a ton of success against the Baltimore D last week, and based on what we’ve seen from this defense early this year, Daniels and the Commanders should be able to move the ball in this game.

Commanders vs. Ravens Prediction, Best Bets

Sometimes, the most obvious take on a game is the right one, and we’re hoping that’s the case in this matchup.

Baltimore and Cincy just combined to score 79 points in the Ravens’ most recent game. Meanwhile, the fewest points that Washington has scored in last three games was 34 against Cleveland, and the Commanders could have had more after hanging 24 on the Browns in the first half alone.

So yes, we’re going with the over in this contest.

We also like Washington to keep this game close against a Baltimore team that has been impressive the last three weeks, but only won one of those games comfortably. Remarkably, four of the Ravens’ first five games this year were all decided by a touchdown or less, and we expect another tight one here.

Commanders vs. Ravens Best Bets

  • Over 51.5 (-105 at FanDuel)
  • Commanders +6.5 (-104 at FD)
