A TROUBLING situation occurred during the college football matchup between the Clemson Tigers and Louisville Cardinals.
Fans shared their horrors concerning the incident during Louisville’s 33-21 upset win on Saturday night.
With six minutes left in the game and down 26-14, Clemson Tigers attempted an onside kick.
Lousiville recovered the kick and the replay review confirmed the call on the field.
However, the Tigers fans believed that their team recovered the ball.
After the refs announced the ruling, fans at Memorial Stadium threw bottles and other trash onto the field of play.

The Clemson cheerleaders, who were performing in the back of the end zone, were involved in the brutal incident and had to leave the area.
“They just let the call stand and that unfortunately has now drawn the ire of the crowd and now we’ve got the crowd acting in a completely inappropriate way as now a lot of debris is being thrown on the field,” the ESPN play-by-play broadcaster Bob Wischusen said during the sequence.
“Now the cheerleaders have to run out of the end zone, not only to help clear the field but also to dodge water bottles that are being thrown in their direction.”
The cheerleaders then cleaned up the field to continue the game.
And some of the Tigers staff members also were seen trying to pick up the materials off the field.
Social media users revealed their worries for the future of the cheerleaders and staff members on the sidelines after seeing the incident.
“Why are fans doing this? Feel absolutely awful for the cheerleaders,” one said.
“Such an embarrassing look,” a second wrote.
“Hope that doesn’t happen again for the cheerleaders. Terrible experience for them,” a third commented.
To make things worse for Clemson, Cardinals running back Isaac Brown scored a touchdown to put the game to seal the victory.
It was the Tigers’ second loss of the season.
They will now need to win out to have a chance at playing in the College Football Playoff.
Saturday night’s incident comes a month after Texas Longhorns fans threw objects on the field after a call didn’t go their way in a matchup with the George Bulldogs.
Texas was fined $250,000 for the incident.
Clemson will likely face a similar punishment from the ACC.
