Canadians React To The 2024 U.S. Presidential Debate

Last night, we noticed a lot of Canadians were weighing in about the debate on X — so much so that “As a Canadian” was trending. So we thought we’d compile a list of the most interesting sentiments expressed by Canadians during the evening’s events. Hopefully this will make you laugh, but also give you time to reflect and learn.

This. As a Canadian I can tell you I have never once considered or cared about who celebrities are voting for. I don’t care who Celine Dion, either Ryan, The Weekend, Bieber or Michael Buble vote for. Educate yourself, get involved, talk to people, get offline and go vote. https://t.co/Q4hvyt6Dae

Even as a Canadian, I’m super interested in tonight’s debate. I miss the simpler times when we didn’t have to worry about US politics but then half of our American neighbours went bat shit crazy so here we are. 🤷‍♀️ #Debate2024

As a Canadian, I have never been so ready for an election to be over. I’m so sick of seeing it literally everywhere.

PSA: this tweet is not a platform to debate or make comments ABOUT the election. This is just a vent. Thank you.

“As a Canadian” is trending with Canadians propping up their Canadian exceptionalism.

Canada is not any better. Proud Boys was started here. Indigenous and Black ppl die by the hands of authority. Systemic ableism & racism run rampant.

Stop. Pretending. We. Are. Better.

As a Canadian, I am absolutely baffled by how tight the race is in the US election. I mean, we watched him claim on national TV that your precious furry friends are being eaten. And all of this, without a single ounce of proof. Abortions after birth?! It’s truly mind-boggling. 🤦🏻‍♀️
