Caleb Plant’s Explosive Reaction To A Heckler At Grand Arrivals

Caleb Plant lived up to the nickname Trevor McCumby gave him, ‘Emotional Plant, daring a heckler to get on stage and fight him after he was called a “bum” by the person during today’s grand arrivals in Las Vegas ahead of their fight this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena.

‘Emotional Plant’ Lives Up to His Nickname

Rather than Plant ignoring the heckler, he told him to get on stage, and it was clear that he meant to teach him a lesson. Plant looked agitated, going from 1 to 10 in a second when the civilian checked him.

This is another example of Plant, 32, getting involved in an outside-of-the-ring altercation, and he doesn’t need that because his career is on shaky ground. McCumby feels that Plant has anger issues and is always amped about something or someone every time he sees him.

The former IBF super middleweight champion Plant (22-3, 13 KOs) is hoping to put himself in a position to get a rematch against unified 168-lb champion Canelo Alvarez, but he’s got a tough opponent in McCumby (28-0, 21 KOs).

“Panning out and the new, getting that WBA interim title and putting it around my waist,” said Caleb Plant during today’s grand arrivals for his fight against Trevor McCumby this Saturday in Las Vegas. “He’s been calling me a quitter. We’re going to see who quits on Saturday.

“I definitely see Canelo getting his hand raised [this Saturday against Edgar Berlanga]. Say what? Come up and say that to my face,” said Plant, reacting to a fan in the crowd calling him a “Bum.”

“Come up here and say that to my face. I’ll show you how that works out. I’ll show you what a bum looks like,” said an agitated Plant.

The Canelo Effect: Has Money Changed Plant?

Plant must win this fight against McCumby if he wants to stay in the mix for a rematch with Canelo. ‘Sweethands’ Plant made massive loot from their fight in November 2021, making him wealthy with a payday of $10 million. Canelo knocked him out in the 11th round, and he’s only fought twice since.

McCumby thinks the money has changed Plant, putting him on his high horse, pretending he’s better than he is, and only fighting twice since the loss. Obviously, when a fighter gets the gigantic payday Plant got against Canelo, it can slow their careers.
