CAA Inks Songwriter & Composer Taura Stinson

EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominated songwriter and composer, Taura Stinson.

Stinson’s work can be heard this awards season in the Apple Original Films movie Blitz, the song “Winter Coat” performed by that pic’s star Saoirse Ronan.

Stinson’s recent projects include writing the theme song “Moon Girl Magic” for Marvel’s Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur with Raphael Saadiq and collaborating on Netflix’s Thelma the Unicorn with Brittany Howard. 

Stinson has also co-written songs, such as “Slip Away” for Carmen, “Call Me Cruella” for Disney’s Cruella and the Oscar Award-shortlisted “Just Look Up” for Netflix’s Don’t Look Up, performed by client Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi. 

Her accolades include a Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination for “Mighty River” from Mudbound, co-written with Mary J. Blige and Raphael Saadiq, and an Emmy Award nomination for “All About Me” from Showtime’s The L-Word: Generation Q, and a Critics Choice Award win for Best Song in a Documentary for “Jump” from the documentary film Step, performed by Cynthia Erivo.

Her collaborations span notable partnerships, such as with Pharrell Williams for Amazon’s Harlem and Ali Shaheed-Muhammad and Adrian Younge for ABC’s Reasonable Doubt

She has also contributed songs to Disney’s Better Nate Than Ever and Cheaper by the Dozen.

Stinson has lent her A&R skills to impactful projects, including BET’s Sunday Best, which garnered the Grammy Award for single, “Jesus” by LeAndria Johnson.

Her early career achievements include writing “Killing Time” for the Men in Black soundtrack for Destiny’s Child, working as lead lyricist for Rio 2, and as a lead songwriter and associate producer of Black Nativity.

She has co-written Grammy Award-nominated hits, such as “Show Me The Way” for clients Earth, Wind & Fire” and “Good Man” for Raphael Saadiq, and lent her vocals to chart-topping songs, including “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, and “Side to Side” by Ariana Grande.
