After having a grand opening at the box office, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan’s Vettaiyan has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh in key roles. On its opening day, the film minted approximately Rs 30 crore (nett) at the Indian box office and marked the second biggest opening for a Tamil film this year, after Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time.
On day 4, the Tamil version of the film minted Rs 19.25 crore and the Telugu version earned Rs 2.35 crore. The Hindi version and the Kannada version earned Rs 65 lakhs and Rs 5 lakhs, respectively. The total collection of the film domestically stands at Rs 104. 75 crore (nett). Worldwide, the film has minted Rs 187.1 crore.
