Police spokesman Sgt. James Fuqua confirmed the deaths are being treated as homicides.

However, he did not provide additional details about the circumstances leading to the killings, stating, “Unfortunately, this is a very complex scene with the amount of victims that we have.”

How Are Investigators Proceeding?

Fuqua said investigators are working carefully to ensure all evidence is thoroughly documented. “It’s going to take a little bit longer to make sure that we’re very careful in going through the scene meticulously so we do not miss any key piece of evidence,” he explained during a briefing on Saturday.

Investigators are conducting interviews with witnesses and reviewing video evidence to gather more information.

As of Saturday, no suspects had been identified or taken into custody, according to Fuqua.

Police noted that they are treating the area with caution as they proceed with the investigation. Fuqua emphasized that cases involving multiple victims require additional time and care to ensure nothing critical is overlooked.

Are Police Closer to Identifying Suspects?

Columbus police did not release updates on Sunday regarding the investigation, and details surrounding the case remain scarce. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and police have not indicated whether the killings were targeted or random.

Fuqua emphasized the complexity of the investigation due to the number of victims and the need to avoid overlooking critical evidence.

Police are urging residents in the area to share any information that might aid the investigation, even if it seems minor. Fuqua noted that tips from the public could play a vital role in advancing the case.
