The combination of items on sale includes 75 per cent off all In Store Halloween Decor, 50 per cent off Fall Decor and 30 per cent off Christmas Decor and Trees, every Friday for all of November.

HOLIDAY SHOPPING

Americans can expect plenty of other holiday savings.

Target shoppers can find their brand new “Fantastical Forest” theme across nine of their stores.

As shoppers stroll through the store, they’ll encounter festive sights like peppermint-swirled path markers, snow-capped tree displays, and new holiday destinations.

The destinations will include the Merry Cherry Chalet, stocked with cozy winter wear, and Candy Cane Corner, brimming with Target’s Favorite Day holiday treats.

The ‘Fantastical Forest’ will be a hallmark at nine select stores, each featuring an impressive 9-foot-tall statue of Berry the Bear, Target’s new winter mascot, ready for festive photo ops.

How to cut the cost of your grocery shop

BELOW are some tips on how to reduce the amount you spend on groceries.

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – You are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – Follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards

For Thanksgiving, Lidl is taking on the competition with a feast that can feed 10 people for $45.

That’s a value of $4.50 per person.

According to reports, this is around $25 cheaper than Wallmart.

The offer is running until November 27.

Lidl’s Thanksgiving meal deal includes a generous 21-item selection designed to create a classic holiday feast.

The centerpiece is a Shady Brook Farms frozen whole turkey, which will satisfy any family gathering.

Lidl said: “This is the lowest Lidl U.S. has ever sold this number of items for a Thanksgiving dinner.

“It’s priced less than national competitors and features nearly double the number of items.”

At BJ’S Wholesale Club,  families can qualify for a free turkey by meeting specific spending requirements.
