Bath & Body Works confirms all 1,850 stores will close for entire day as shoppers are warned to plan ahead for holidays

AS the holiday season approaches, many retailers are making adjustments to their store hours.

This is the case for fragrance destination Bath & Body Works, which will be shutting its doors for 24 hours in the coming weeks.

Thanksgiving this year falls on Thursday, November 28.

To offer its employees time to celebrate the holiday with family and friends, Bath & Body Works will close shop for one day at all 1,850 of its locations.

However, shoppers looking to score the best beauty deals ahead of Christmas will have plenty of opportunities to do so.

Bath & Body Works has hosted its five-day-long Black Friday Sale since 2020.

The sale typically lasts the Monday before Thanksgiving through Black Friday.

Although Bath & Body Works isn’t physically open on Thanksgiving, shoppers can score the Black Friday deals online.

Every other day of the sale, consumers can shop in-store or online.

Savvy shoppers are in luck, as the fragrance retailer generally opens its doors extra early at 6 AM on Black Friday.

During Bath & Body Works’s Black Friday Sale, different deals are launched daily.

During Monday through Wednesday of the sale last year, customers could score deals on hand soaps, three-wick candles, and body care items, per the Krazy Coupon Lady.

On Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Bath & Body Works offered a mix-and-match buy three get three free promotion. 

Additionally, the retailer sometimes offers online flash deals for a few hours on Thanksgiving.

HOLIDAY SWITCH UP

In the past, many major retailers such as Best Buy, Kohl’s, Target, and Walmart have remained open on Thanksgiving to kick off their Black Friday sales early.

However, the pandemic in 2020 launched a new trend in which stores began closing their doors on Thanksgiving Day.

Retailers took note of the positive response received by shoppers regarding the closures and followed suit in 2021 and subsequent years, closing for 24 hours on Thanksgiving.

Target even announced last November that it would permanently be closed on Thanksgiving.

“Staying closed for the first time on Thanksgiving Day 2020 helped us take care of our team and guests during the pandemic,” said CEO Brian Cornell in a statement.

“But once I heard from team members how much they appreciated that time with their families, it was an easy decision to make the policy permanent. And our store teams have had that time off ever since.”

The CEO of Walmart also announced in 2022 that it would remain closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Shoppers can also expect that retailers including Trader Joe’s, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Best Buy, and Aldi will be closed on the upcoming holiday.

In preparation for Thanksgiving, consumers can score six Walmart kitchen flash deals starting at $12.88.

Shoppers can also score deals with Target’s “Deal of the Day” ahead of Black Friday.
