THERE is an update regarding a potential suspension for Baker Mayfield after his sideline incident.
Baker Mayfield was caught on the sideline with a pack of Zyns, which are nicotine pouches.
Mayfield was in the midst of a rough game against the Baltimore Ravens when he was caught popping the nicotine pouch.
Funnily enough, he turned things around in the second half after using it and nearly completed a huge comeback.
The one issue is NFL players are banned from using any tobacco or nicotine products while playing.
This caused some concern that Mayfield could face a suspension for his actions, but that has since been proven otherwise.
“Some of you have asked about Baker Mayfield being shown on camera Monday night putting nicotine pouches in his mouth on the sidelines,” Fox reporter Greg Auman wrote.
“NFL policy is no tobacco products in playing area, but such a violation would typically only result in a warning letter as a reminder.”
Even though Mayfield won’t be suspended for the violation, it didn’t stop fans from having some jokes about the Zyn usage.
“This is why he’s my guy,” one fan said.
“Think he took too many, was overthrowing everyone for half the game,” another fan said.
“It’s absolutely disgusting that he thinks this is okay,” a third fan said.
“We stand united Baker Mayfield,” a fourth fan said.
“I see why he threw for 370 yards,” a fifth fan said.
While some fans supported Mayfield and others spoke out against him, one party was completely against his actions.
That party was actually the company that makes the nicotine pouches.
“Swedish Match appreciates its loyal consumers and encourages them not to show the product in any situation where someone under 21 years old could see it,” a Zyn spokesperson told TMZ.

“The product is marketed only to current nicotine consumers 21 years old and over as a better alternative to continued smoking and other traditional tobacco products.”
Mayfield might be upset that he won’t be allowed to use Zyns on the sideline after the game he had.
Outside of two interceptions, Mayfield had a great day, passing for 370 yards and three touchdowns.
Despite his effort, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 41-31 to the Ravens and fell to 4-3.
They face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday trying to avoid falling to .500 on the season.
