Australian Olympic swimming great Libby Trickett has announced she is having her fifth baby.
The 39-year-old mother of four shared an Instagram post with the news that she and husband Luke were pregnant again, this time promising it would be their last time.
“Luke and I are absolutely thrilled (and ever so slightly terrified) to announce that we will be welcoming Baby Trickett 5.0 into the world in April!!” Trickett wrote.

“Poppy is already excited for another baby, Eddie thinks it will be a little boy, Bronte thinks it will be a little girl and Alfie keeps pointing to my tummy and saying ‘baby’ but really has no idea what’s he’s in for.”
The post was a photo of her ultrasound, which included a series of lengthy hashtags, which said: “Trickett party of seven.
“We must be slightly unhinged or suckers for punishment. Probably both.
“But we cannot wait to officially complete our family.
“Here we go again.
“I really, really promise this is absolutely it.
“Boy or girl?”
Trickett knows she’s in for some hard yards ahead with another baby — she’s already spoke about her struggles with four.
Earlier this year, she opened up about the “hardest few weeks” during baby Alfie’s infancy.
“Accurate representation of how the last four weeks have felt,” she began the post in acknowledgement of a candid photo of Alfie pulling her hair.
“Finally feel like we are crawling out of the sickness depths we have been in over the school holidays. It was A LOT.
“Possibly the hardest few weeks we’ve had.”
Trickett, who retired from Swimming in 2012, explained that everyone in her family became sick.
“We had two emergency room visits, Eddie with croup, and Alfie with a rash which I thought was chicken pox but turned out to be eczema herpeticum (we think — tests were inconclusive but he responded well to the antivirals),” Trickett wrote.
“Poppy and I got mycoplasma pneumonia (that s*** is going around EVERYWHERE so be aware!).
“Luke and Bronte got off fairly mildly but were still a bit under the weather (to be expected with everyone coughing into each other’s eyeballs 👀).
“It was really rubbish. Just a bit of a s*** time. And I know I wasn’t my best self. I felt like I couldn’t keep up on top of work.
“I f***** up a few times including with a close friend, doing things that I hadn’t done in years.
“I tried to own it as quickly as I could, which is all you can do after you f*** up and then do better next time.”
She said she was writing about their struggles because “a lot of people are going through a lot right now”.
“Whether it’s sickness, financial stress, relationship challenges, work issues, concerns about family, not to mention things happening in our world and society,” she said.
“Let’s give each other grace where we can, support where it’s needed, remember to ask for help, and possibly most importantly, give ourselves grace.
“We will all stuff up, especially when the going is tough. But let’s own it, have uncomfortable conversations and then give each other grace, recognising that it’s hard for everyone at the moment.
“Lots of love to everyone x,” her post ended.
