The Houston Astros have been talking to multiple teams about a trade for three-time All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker. Their asking price is high, according to a new report.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported Wednesday that four teams — the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Francisco Giants — were talking to the Astros about Tucker.

According to the Post’s Jon Heyman, the Astros’ talks with the Yankees and Cubs have progressed to discussions around specific players they would want in return for Tucker, who averaged 30 home runs, 104 RBIs and 23 stolen bases from 2021-23.
Houston has asked the Yankees for a package involving Luis Gil, the 2024 American League Rookie of the Year, and have asked the Cubs for outfielder Seiya Suzuki and infielder Isaac Paredes, according to Heyman.
The Astros are wary of losing Tucker a year from now, when he is eligible for free agency. Astros general manager Dana Brown might be better served in the long run trading Tucker in advance to recoup some value if he does not believe he can re-sign the homegrown star.
