DONALD Trump’s would-be assassin wrote a bizarre £2 book focused on ‘the end of humanity,’ it has emerged.

The suspect in the attempted shooting of the ex-president Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, wrote a book seemingly about international affairs, particularly the conflict in Ukraine.

The 291-page book titled Ukraine’s Unwinnable War, was previously on sale on Amazon for £2.25.

The book purports to be an analysis of the “end of humanity” and the “fatal flaw of democracy.”

It also includes graphic images, including beheadings and dead children.

In a bizarre passage, Routh is rambling about his disappointment with the world and presents himself as an idealist who “wants the world to change” but is being let down so he “gave up and quit”, which makes him “the worst of humans”.

The author criticizes the world for not showing enough support to Ukraine and asks “Why has Putin not been assassinated?”

In another part of the book dedicated to Iran, the author blasts Trump as a “brainless” president adding he must take “part of the blame” for electing him.

He calls readers to “assassinate” the former President and himself for “that error in judgment” – an apparent reference to Sunday’s shooting attempt.

The gunman is a pro-Ukraine activist who reportedly travelled to the country after the Russian invasion and even tried to recruit soldiers to join troops on the frontline.

He often ranted on social media about the US’s actions in the war and said the US military should be put on “paid leave” so they could go and fight.

He also tweeted at Kamala Harris and Joe Biden after the previous assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

In the wake of the shooting on July 13 at one of his rallies, Routh urged the president and vice president to visit the injured in the hospital.

He wrote: “You and Biden should visit the injured people in the hospital from the Trump rally and attend the funeral of the murdered fireman.”

On Sunday’s attempted shooting Routh managed to get around 400 to 500 yards away from Mr Trump.

He was arrested after Secret Service agents spotted a weapon poking from nearby bushes.

Officials said it’s unclear whether the suspect fired first – or at all – or whether just the Secret Service did.

The gunman fled the scene in a black Nissa but a member of the public noted his number plate and informed the police.

An AK-47-style rifle, backpacks and a GoPro camera were found discarded by the golf club.

The FBI confirmed they saved the Republican presidential candidate from an “assassination attempt” as he played golf at his National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Martin County Sherriff William D. Snyder said Routh “was not displaying a lot of emotions” when police arrested him and was “relatively calm”.

Trump was rushed to safety and later declared on social media: “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE

“Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again. May God bless you.”

The White House said President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris were being kept informed on the 2pm incident on Sunday.

Biden said he was “relieved” Trump was “unharmed”.

He said: “A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former president and those around him safe.

“As I have said many times, there is no place for political violence or for any violence ever in our country.”

Biden added he had directed his team to make sure the Secret Service has “every resource, capability and protective measure necessary” to keep Trump safe.

Harris, who met Trump for the first time in person at a debate last  Tuesday, said:  “I have been briefed on reports of gunshots fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida, and I am glad he is safe.

“Violence has no place in America.

While Sir Keir Starmer said he was “very worried” about what he said looked like an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

The Prime Minister told broadcasters in Rome: “I was very worried by the news about this attempt. Looks like an assassination attempt, very worried about it.”

He added: “Obviously, there’s now an investigation going on so I won’t say much more about the details, but I think it is really important that we’re all very, very clear that violence has no part to play at all in any political process.

“So, deeply troubled. Let the investigation take its place. But absolute clarity: violence, no place in political discussion at all, anywhere.”

It comes just nine weeks after Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump at a rally on July 13.

Trump was left bloodied after a bullet pierced his ear at the open-air event in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was shot dead by Secret Service snipers shortly after opening fire.
