Angle Vale footballer Henry Nau wakes from coma after incident in ‘violent’ grand final

A 17-year-old footballer is awake and responsive after being placed in an induced coma following an incident during a grand final in Adelaide.

Angle Vale’s Henry Nau was airlifted to Royal Adelaide Hospital after being hurt in the clash with Two Wells on Saturday.

Nau woke from his coma on Sunday morning, according to his father.

“Thanks for the support everyone is giving Henry and us as parents,” Garry Nau wrote.

“Henry remained overnight in an induced coma. He was woken up this morning and started responding.

“At this point, we are waiting on what the doctors will tell us next.

“While his initial scans were positive, Henry is still in ICU at the RAH.

“Thanks again for all the kind words and wishes. We will try to update as we know more.

“Our priority is his health and hopefully speedy recovery.”
