ANDY Reid warned his Kansas City Chiefs team that ‘nothing is given’ after another heart-stopping win.
The Chiefs needed some late Patrick Mahomes magic and a last-second field goal to squeeze past the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Kansas City was a double-digit favorite against a Carolina team that has won just three NFL games all year.
But they were pegged back to 27-27 in the fourth quarter and needed a field goal from Spencer Shrader as time expired to seal the win.
The Chiefs improved to 10-1 and maintained their position at the top of the AFC.
But Reid warned, “Nothing’s given to you, and you’re getting their best shot.
“You keep your heads up and get this thing rolling.
“Winning is the important part right here – this league is crazy.”
Kansas City hosts the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday.
And Reid admitted there is plenty to work on in practice before the Thanksgiving weekend game.
“We had nine penalties for 90 yards,” he said.
“We’ve got to keep building on it. We can’t take plays away from ourselves. It’s too much.
“We’ve got to make sure we take care of business on third downs. Both sides. We’re working on that.”
Mahomes threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns.
He also rushed five times for 60 yards – including a late scramble to set up the game-winning field goal.
“Pat had a big day,” Reid said.
“24 of 33 for over 240 yards. Then, the big scramble at the end.

“I mean, that was a beautiful thing.
“It’s a good thing to have Pat from a head coach’s standpoint.”
Mahomes, meanwhile, admitted he’s hopeful of some more comfortable wins after their last four victories came by one score.
“You want to have some blowouts,” Mahomes said.
“You want be a little calmer in the fourth quarter.
“I’ve always said it can be a good thing as you get to the playoffs and later in the season, just knowing that you’ve been in those moments before and knowing how to kind of attack it.
“But I would love to win a game before the very last play.”
