AS the tiny home trend continues to boom, Amazon is stepping up its offerings.
The e-commerce giant is now selling a two-bedroom tiny home for just $22,990.
Homebuyers seeking a cheaper option may now consider the two-story prefabricated kit.
Prefabricated, or prefab, is when the materials are manufactured in sections for easy assembly on site.
The tiny home kit comes from the brand Emonia and falls under Amazon’s voluntary 30-day return guarantee.
This means shoppers can return the tiny home within 30 days following delivery.
However, customers who purchase between November 1 and December 31, 2024 can be returned until January 31, 2025.
Each foldable tiny home kit measures 90-inches x 90-inches x 90-inches.
TINY FEATURES
Each home has two bedrooms and is a double story container.
The tiny home is made from a high strength stainless steel frame with what the site describes as wind protection level eight.
Additionally it has a fire protection level b, earthquake resistance level eight, sun protection, rain and moisture resistance.
The site also says the prefab house can be used for 20 years, so be sure to add in any additional safety features to ensure a long-lasting home.
Just note that the home could be below the size threshold for most city planning permit requirements, so shoppers may need to check.
This means contacting your building code authorities and city planning department for your local building code specifications.
SMALL SPACES
Tiny homes may be considered a gray area in some states and cities as they have differing regulations.
Additionally, like all homes in America, they must be built to code.
Some restrictions may include a minimum ceiling height of 6 feet, 8 inches, at least one bathroom, and at least two means of escape in case of a fire or other emergency.
Where to buy a tiny home
