“I’m a huge fan of Amazon products. This is a great budget tablet reader. I have bad eyesight, and reading from a phone or a book is not an option. So, having a text enlarger is a huge plus. My only complaint is not many apps to choose from. Otherwise 5*” —Bruce
“[…] I love both the video and audio quality of the tablet. I got the tablet for the purpose of watching my streaming videos and it’s been a wonderful experience. One thing that really pleasantly surprised me was the audio!! Absolutely fantastic! It’s like having surround sound when watching videos! I got the case to go with the tablet as well, and it’s really nice. It took me a bit to adjust to the case and maneuver it in my bed when lying down, but it’s satisfactory. After all, these things aren’t really designed with the disabled in mind. But, it is a nice quality case cover for the tablet. I have a few cats, so the case cover protects it very nicely against their tendencies to lay atop the tablet. It’s a good protection for falling off the bed when I’ve fallen asleep! So, for my first experience with a tablet, this is great. Makes me wonder what took me so long to buy one!” —Helen K. Jones (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)
“This is the BEST Amazon FIRE HD Tablet so far! I have others, including two first-gen 8-inch tablets (one with a Show charging dock) and another heavier 2020 10-inch tablet that I also love so much that I did not trade it in! This newest one is also in blue color, which is perfection, IMO! Light in hand, with snappy fast processor performance! Outstanding battery performance with more than 12 hours of longevity time! Very strong and durable! All of them come with a glossy, durable glass screen. Because I have dropped the older 10-inch tablet on Mexican tile several times without anything breaking on it, I already know how durable Amazon makes their tablets. I have cases for all of my tablets. However, this time, I purchased a more affordable stand-up case for this newest, 10-inch Fire HD Tablet. Unless you are a device snob, you can not beat the affordable value of the Amazon FIRE HD Tablet with its gorgeous screens for movies, email, books, browsing, and portability, imo! Thank you Amazon!!!” —Placeholder
“As an Apple user, I expected to be disappointed and ended up being very satisfied. The screen and battery life are good. I use the tablet mainly to watch YouTube and Max, web surf, and read. The Silk browser works with the sites I use (e.g., O’Reilly Learning). I didn’t need a bunch of apps as I have an iPhone and Mac for that. However, the M365 app works well. It can be a little slow when you try to multitask, but it was only $75 on Orime Day :-).” —Ed Bittel
“It is my first time using an Amazon tech product. I really like that it is very affordable compared to its competitor, the iPad. It charges fast and can hold a charge well. The size is very appropriate and not obnoxiously large. It is rather hard to find a compatible case since this is a rather new product, but I was able to get a cheap $10 one from Fintie. The best part about it is that I don’t need to worry and freak out about it ever getting stolen. I can actually have a peaceful state of mind carrying this with me to school without being paranoid that the person next to me is going to steal it when they get a chance. It is laggy and glitchy at times but the frequent updates always fix that. This is a great budget-friendly tablet if you’re an incoming college student who can’t justify spending $600+ on an iPad for school (and trust me, you don’t need an iPad. Most of the students with an iPad never pay attention in class and perform very poorly as they try to “pretend” to take notes during class). Live frugally as a student and don’t think you have to have the latest technology to succeed!” —Elisa Han
