RICHARD Goodall, the janitor crowned winner of America’s Got Talent 2024, has claimed he hopes a film biopic of his life will be made starring actor Zac Efron.
Richard, 55, spoke to The U.S. Sun exclusively on how taking home the $1m prize will change his and new wife Angela’s lives forever, now that the prestige and profile of the series means he can leave his Indiana middle school cleaning job.
Richard’s wife Angela also said she believed Demi Moore is the perfect “bada**” to portray her in the story of their romance and fairytale reality experience.
The AGT winner also spoke about how his personal life has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, with the loss of his first spouse Patty in 2021.
MOVIE STAR
Richard said he hopes that he can emulate Britain’s Got Talent enigmas Paul Potts and Susan Boyle by having a film biopic or documentary made about his life.
Angela added fans may be shocked at some of the darker trials Richard has faced during his life.

“Richard’s life would be a magnificent film. The biggest thing? I just can’t put it out there for the world yet. “It is just life that has not been kind.”
Richard feels having Zac play him “would be cool.”
“He’d probably have to put on a little weight though, It sounds like fun and I’m willing to take on anything.”
Angela said she wants to be played by Demi.
“It would probably have to be like Demi,” she said.
“She’s a bada** and she’s had to be a bada** since she was a little kid.
“So she could probably relate to that a lot better. To everything you got to do to survive to get to this point right now.”
STICKING WITH SIMON
Richard wants to continue to collaborate with AGT judges and show creator Simon Cowell to oversee his career and a film biopic.
“It would be an absolute pleasure.
“He has done so much for not just the music community, but he is a man to not only look up to, but a man who’s changed people’s lives, not just with music, but with these TV shows.
America’s Got Talent judges
THOUSANDS of hopefuls have graced the America’s Got Talent stage to showcase their abilities.
“He has made regular ordinary people at the forefront.”
He added that AGT helped show the world he could be a star despite not being a twenty-something polished performer.
“It’s not about all the superficial stuff. It’s about not only talent, but it’s also about people of substance that care about people, not people that are just trying to climb a ladder and make a buck.
“Ange and I definitely intend to give back whatever way we can. The possibilities are endless.”
BIG MOVE
Richard teased that he hopes to leave Indiana – the state which supported him passionately with millions of votes – for a warmer state.
Richard said confirmed exclusively on camera: “The sky’s the limit. I had no expectations doing all this.
“And now look at me. We know we want to get a nice little place either in Terre Haute [Indiana] or in Florida.
“I want to go somewhere warmer. The future, it’s unwritten now, whereas a year ago, I was just the guy that took out the trash and wiped the tables and now possibilities are kind of endless.”
“I foresee myself having a home with the washer and dryer of my very own in it. And I foresee that very soon,” Angela added.
“We have separate homes. We’re going to get a whole different house because I have a tiny apartment and his house isn’t livable. It’s just not okay. It’s just not. That’s all going to change.
“It’s pretty safe to say that he’s going to retire from the school and we’re going to do things that we want to do.
“Life is short, so you got to have fun with it and you got to go out there and grasp your life. You got to live it.”
Richard confirmed that Angela has been the “driving force” for him to try out for AGT, given she was in the midst of a battle for her life thanks to a heart defect.
Richard wanted to care for her, but she encouraged him to pursue his Hollywood dream earlier this year.
Angela revealed how being in medical peril and facing heart surgery was “so sad and scary,”.
“But I knew that he had to do this for him regardless of what happened with me, because I knew he had it in him and it was his chance.
“So I just told him, you’re going to have to do it for both of us, you know, can do it.’
“I can’t come this time, but by the grace of God I’ll be there every time after and here I am. And here we are.”
Just before the final specialists told Angela her operation was a success, which changed both of their attitudes.
“Once I knew I was going to live, I was just like, each day, I am not going to take a day for granted. Never.
“’I’m going to live each day doing what I want to do.”
SURPRISE WIN
Richard beat out other superstars, including drone performers Sky Elements and dog act Roni Sagi and Rhythm, to be crowned the winner of Season 19.
He first blew the judges away with his performance of Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.
The singer received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum, who was dazzled by his rockstar performance.
