AEW Star Stretchered Out After Being Knocked Unconscious

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been on an upswing, with incredible matches and a massive $170 million deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.

All of this further establishes AEW as the prime competitor for WWE, especially since they will now be streaming their program on Max.

Unfortunately, the news was somewhat marred by two injuries that recently occurred.

During a Ring of Honor (ROH) taping at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, two members of the ROH roster were stretchered out after reportedly suffering concussions during their matches.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, a spot was mistimed during a match between Sammy Guevara and Serpentico. Serpentico landed on top of Guevara’s head, knocking him unconscious.

The match was stopped immediately and AEW medical staff attended to Guevara. He was soon stretchered out of the ring.

Later, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reported that it is believed Guevara had a concussion, but this wasn’t confirmed.

Wade Keller of PWTorch later reported that Guevara was seen walking around backstage.

“PWTorch has heard from multiple sources that, while there was serious concern for his well-being after the incident among his colleagues and management, after being treated and evaluated, he was walking around backstage on his own,” Keller said.

“In fact, if you hadn’t known he was stretchered out of the ring earlier, it wouldn’t have been obvious to anyone.”

The other incident occurred in a match between Lady Frost and Kelly Madan. At the end of their match, Madan was also knocked unconscious and reportedly suffered a concussion.

“Lady Frost squashed someone in a match during tapings of ROH and the losing superstar had to be placed on a backboard in what appeared to be a pretty serious injury,” wrestling reporter John Clark said. “She was stretchered out.”

AEW, Guevara, and Madan have not given any updates regarding their injury status.

Guevara has been a constant fixture in AEW since the company was formed in 2019. He is considered one of the “four pillars” of AEW alongside MJF, Darby Allin, and Jack Perry.

In his time with the company, Guevara has held the AEW TNT Championship three times for a combined 140 days. He is currently the ROH World Tag Team Champion alongside Dustin Rhodes.

Guevara has been involved in multiple iconic matches and storylines involving the likes of Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Don Callis, and Sting.
