Red Bull Returns To NASCAR In A Big Way As They Sign Young Star

Red Bull is making a resounding return to NASCAR, announcing the signing of 18-year-old racing talent Connor Zilisch.

Connor Zilisch, recognized widely as one of NASCAR’s most promising upcoming talents, is understandably excited to have the energy drink powerhouse supporting him.

“So stoked to be joining the Red Bull family as a Red Bull athlete. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid and I couldn’t be more pumped. Let’s go,” said the young driver through his social media channels.

Currently, Zilisch competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series under Spire Motorsports, and the ARCA Menards Series with Pinnacle Racing Group.

A key facet of Zilisch’s professional journey is his development deal with Trackhouse Racing. Co-owned by Justin Marks and Grammy-winning artist Pitbull, Trackhouse Racing is a big player in the NASCAR ecosystem. This development agreement is expected to provide Zilisch with ample opportunities to refine his craft and gain invaluable experience across different racing disciplines.

Marking a transition in his career, Zilisch is slated to make his highly anticipated Xfinity Series debut at Watkins Glen this Saturday. Further solidifying his ascent in the racing world, JR Motorsports has announced that Zilisch will compete full-time in the Xfinity Series beginning in 2025, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet. He is set to participate in four races this season before his full-time entry next year.

The driver’s early career is decorated with achievements. Even before turning 18, he secured a number of wins, including triumphs at IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship events at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Additionally, he has shown dominance in the ARCA Menards Series and captured a victory in the zMAX CARS Late Model Stock Car Tour. It would be difficult not to recognise the immense potential this driver has.

The significance of Red Bull’s return to NASCAR cannot be overstated. Their history in the sport dates back to their previous involvement in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, from which they exited in 2011. By signing Zilisch, Red Bull reaffirms its commitment to supporting burgeoning talent while also stepping back into the NASCAR coliseum.

Zilisch now joins an illustrious group of Red Bull athletes, including Shane Van Gisbergen, Scott Speed, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Mattias Ekström, and Broc Feeny. Red Bull has extensive involvement in various motorsport disciplines across the globe and has seen more than their fair share of success. Their re-engagement with NASCAR through Zilisch sends a bold message to the sport.
