A NEW restaurant is serving the “most expensive martini in America” and an eye-watering $13,000 – but it comes with a twist.
The Chicago-based restaurant has shocked people with the pricey cocktail but its manager looks to create “an iconic experience for a select few rather than a broad popularity.”
Famous Italian restaurant Adalina has debuted the $13,000 martini – but what you may not know is the beverage comes with an exclusive piece of diamond jewelry.
The restaurant led by Top Chef alumni Soo Ahn has collaborated with luxurious jewlery brand Marrow Fine – that’s conveniently located just below the restaurant.
Guests can therefore come to the restaurant for food, drink – and jewelry.
With the “Marrow Martini” comes a 9-CWT diamond tennis necklace with 150 diamonds set in 14K gold.
Adalina’s manager Colin Hofer told Fox News Digital that it could be the most expensive martini in the whole US.
He said: “What makes the Marrow Martini truly unique is the seamless fusion of fine jewelry and luxury dining.
“It’s not just about the cocktail – it’s about creating an elevated experience.”
Hofer explained how the inspiration for the expensive drink was taken from high-end jewelry.
The manager also described what is in the pricey martini – and what makes it stand out.
He continued: “Instead of traditional spirits like gin or vodka, I chose Mezcal because I believe it has untapped potential as a luxury spirit.
“Mezcal, much like heirloom jewelry, is often overlooked despite its richness.
“The particular Mezcal we use is a rare, sought-after brand made from Green Agave, native to the deserts of San Luis Potosí, Mexico.”
Marrow Fine’s founder Jillian Sassone also told Fox News Digital about her happiness for collaborating with the restaurant.
She said: “Adalina was a natural choice to partner with: not only because of its proximity, but also because of their world-class menu from Top Chef, Soo Ahn.
“Each time I have visited Adalina, I’m blown away by every dish but also by the palpable energy and excitement in the restaurant.”
The cocktail is not your usual martini as it is paired with heirloom tomato water, chili liqueur and lemon basil olive oil.
Before being served, the cocktail is smoked in a glass cloche then delicately presented to the guest with the luxurious necklace.
Hofer summarised: “It’s more about creating an iconic experience for a select few rather than broad popularity.”
