PAT McAfee certainly had himself a day, and night, in Ireland for the start of the college football season.

During ESPN’s historic College Gameday in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, the ESPN star Pat McAfee revealed that he consumed plenty of alcohol during and after his self-titled sports talk show.

McAfee and company appeared on the ESPN college football show when the Aviva Stadium hosted Florida State against Georgia Tech.

College Gameday host Rece Davis introduced the panelists, including new analyst and icon Nick Saban, at the show’s start.

McAfee pleaded with ESPN to continue to have college football in Ireland each year.

He then revealed his excitement for football returning while also adding a factoid about his day in Dublin on Friday.

“This is a beautiful time in a wonderful town. Football is back. What’s the crack they say around here? That means what’s the story? The story for me was 30 Guinnesses,” McAfee said.

“It’s an honor to be in this city.”

The CFG crew laughed as Davis asked him, “Did you split the G on all of those 30 Guinness?”

The ‘split the G’ challenge tests how well a person drinks so that the drink sits at a certain spot in the glass,

McAfee admitted that his main goal was to down the beers.

“So (that’s) what the people do but I powered right through those and made those things disappear,” he said.

“That’s what you gotta do whenever you’re in Ireland amongst these great people.”

McAfee drank a fraction of his beers while hosting his The Pat McAfee Show from a temporary set in J.R. Mahons Pub.

He was alongside his co-hosts which included AJ Hawk as they were in front of a live audience and a traditional Irish Band.

As the ESPN show progresses, the beers and shots piled up for McAfee, who said, “It feels like this show is only going to be good if we hammer 100 beers.

McAfee then claimed he and Hawk had taken edibles while on their flight to Ireland.

And McAfee shared that the two of them took 100mgs of edibles on the plane.

When the show was close to being finished, McAfee said that he had “just puked” before going on to admit he was s*tfaced right now.”

“I don’t know how we were supposed to have a show in Ireland without this happening.”
