As stree 2 thrills audiences at the box office, director Amar Kaushik has shed light on the decision to give Shraddha Kapoor less screen time. In a recent interview, Kaushik addressed feedback about Shraddha’s limited presence, explaining that it was a deliberate choice to enhance the impact of her character’s entry. “Some people complained that Shraddha’s screen time is less. But if she had been more visible, the kind of entry she made wouldn’t have had the same impact,” he noted.
Kaushik emphasized that the script dictated the screen time for each character, including key roles played by Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi. “We write what is required,” he added, focusing on the importance of the story over screen time.
Stree 2, a sequel to the 2018 hit, sees Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao return to the haunted town of Chanderi to confront a new terror, Sarkata. The film, released on August 15, 2024, also features cameos by Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar.
