SHANNON Sharpe issued a warning to Olympics star Noah Lyles before asking him about Tyreek Hill’s recent challenge.
Fresh off his gold medal performance in the 100m sprint at the Paris Olympics, Lyles joined Sharpe on his Nightcap show.
During the program, Sharpe wanted to ask his guest about NFL star Hill’s claim that he’d beat him a race.
Hill, 30, also accused Lyles of “pretending to be sick”, after he revealed that he’d run with Covid following his bronze medal performance in the 200m sprint.
When interviewed, Lyles has a habit of claiming to have not heard of people he gets asked about.
With Hill’s comments the topic of discussion, Sharpe, 56, was keen to get ahead of the 27-year-old.
“Tyreek said he wants some of you Noah,” the First Take star began. “And you know who Tyreek is, don’t do that Noah.
“You know who Tyreek is!”
Lyles, who grinned during Sharpe’s question, had a cheeky response up his sleeve.
“I’ll be honest, I forget his name all the time,” he said. “If it’s not about track and it ain’t about League of Legends…”
After Sharpe claimed that Hill said “come get some”, Lyles got serious.
“Tyreek is just chasing clout,” he said. “Any time somebody fast comes up he says he wants to race them.
“If he really wanted to race people he would have showed up like DK Metcalf.
“And the man raced in the 60 metres this year, in the masters division, the man dodges smoke.
“I’ve not got time for that.”
Sharpe couldn’t help but giggle after Lyles’ rant.
‘WE CAN RACE’
“Let’s see if we can get some sponsors. Would you be willing to race ‘Reek in a 60, or a 100 if we got some sponsors to put some money up?”
“We can race,” Lyles responded. “If he’s serious about it.
“If he’s truly serious about it, I’m not talking about just talking on the internet.
“You ain’t actually coming to me and talking to my agent, saying ‘let’s set something up’.
“If you are serious about it, you’ll see me on the track.”
“There he is ladies and gentlemen,” Sharpe then concluded. “The current fastest man in the world.”
