He may be “just Ken,” but Barbie star Ryan Gosling didn’t bring just one date to the Oscars 2024 on Sunday evening. Gosling rolled into the Mojo Dojo Casa House (also known as Los Angeles’s Dolby Theater) Sunday with two important women on his arm: His mom, Donna Gosling, and sister Mandi Gosling. If that wasn’t Kenough, his stepfather, Valerio Attanasio, also proudly walked the carpet with Gosling.
Gosling, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actor and is slated to perform the movie’s original song “I’m Just Ken” at the awards ceremony, is married to actor Eva Mendes, with whom he shares two daughters. Mendes showed her support for her husband ahead of the ceremony with an Instagram post of herself standing outside his Oscars dressing room, set to audio of him singing “I’m Just Ken.” “Always by my man,” she captioned the video.

Gosling and Mendes are notoriously private, and do not typically walk red carpets together.
Gosling arrived at the ceremony in an all-black Gucci suit and shirt, accented with sparkly black beaded piping along the jacket’s lapels and shirt’s placket. He wore delicate chain necklaces, but to find the best accessory in Gosling’s ensemble, you’ll have to look down: Hot pink socks peeked out from below Gosling’s trouser cuffs, a nod to the neon-hued color palette of Barbie.
The former Mouseketeer joins the proud tradition of nominees bringing their number-one fans, their moms, as their plus-ones to the Oscars. The likes of Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Natalie Portman, among many others, have attended the ceremony with dear old mom by their side, and Gosling himself brought his mom and sister in 2007 as well. This year, Bradley Cooper, nominated three times over for Maestro, also played the part of mama’s boy, attending the show with his mom, Gloria Campano, prompting host Jimmy Kimmel to poke fun at him during his opening monologue for their repeat duo performances.
