33 Cooking Items That Are Functional *And* Fun

This specific 10-speed mixer includes a flat beater, dough hook, wire whip, mixing bowl, lid, and pouring shield. It holds up to 5-quarts in the mixing bowl, which is enough dough for nine dozen cookies if baking math is your preferred way of understanding numbers!

I own this mixer in stainless steel, and it is truly one my most beloved gadgets. I mainly use it for making batches of cookie dough, but it also comes in handy for creating any kind of dough without having to do lots of the work of beating and whipping. TBH, I considered myself a Sandra Lee kind of baker (semi-homemade), but since getting this machine, I’ve made a ton of things from scratch that I never would have considered! I’ve made waffle batter, mashed potatoes, royal icing, buttercream icing, zucchini muffins and bread, brookies (brownie-cookies), brownies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, molasses cookies, and cheesecake!

Promising review: “I have owned a KitchenAid mixer for well over 20 years and just upgraded to this one. We redid the kitchen and my accent color is aqua so this looks spectacular sitting on my counter. I wanted a little more power and this is perfect for me. I do a lot of baking so I couldn’t live without a KitchenAid mixer. I also have the spiralizer and pasta making attachments. This is a work horse! I will never use anything but a KitchenAid.” —T Jaye Brand
