THE New York Jets could be without their star wide receiver in 2025.

The Jets have missed the playoffs yet again even with a star-studded roster, and there could be a mass exodus of talent leaving the team this offseason.

One of those talents could be superstar wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who could possible request a trade this offseason.

ESPN reporter Rich Cimini said on a podcast that he believes Wilson will request a trade away from the Jets.

“I talk to people in Garrett Wilson’s circle,” he said.

“They think, now I want to emphasize this is speculation on their part, they think he will ask for a trade after the season.

“Again, speculative, by people who know him. We don’t know that to be a fact.”

The Jets are 4-10 this season and would need to win out to match their record from 2023 when Zach Wilson was the starting quarterback most of the year.

It seems unlikely that they will be able to instantly compete again next season as they are undergoing drastic organizational change.

The Jets will be appointing a new GM and head coach in the offseason who might want to bring in their own players.

There is already a huge amount of speculation that Aaron Rodgers won’t return for the 2025 season.

“You mention the money: none guaranteed but they do owe him a $35million option bonus if they decide to bring him back,” ESPN reporter Ian Rapoport said.

“My understanding is that Rodgers right now is considered a long shot to return to the Jets.

“Those conversations will happen with the new powerbrokers after the year but that is my understanding right now.”

Rodgers hasn’t shared whether or not he wants to stay with the Jets in 2025 or not, but he wants people to know that there isn’t a decision made yet.

“I haven’t told anybody in my life that I wanna play in 2025 and not on the Jets,” he said.

“That’s 100 percent false and I actually said the opposite. I’m going to wait and see what happens at the end of the season and if they want me back.

Netflix will be the global home of the NFL on Christmas Day this year.

“But I’ve really enjoyed my time in New York. Obviously we haven’t had the success that we’ve all wanted to have but I’ve made some great friendships on the team. I’ve enjoyed living in Jersey.

“I don’t even know if I want to play yet but New York would be my first option.”

With uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position, Wilson might look to jump ship as well.

At the meantime it’s all speculation, but things aren’t great in Jets land right now.

If it isn’t Wilson, expect other major changes to happen around the team in 2025.
