Jr NTR, R Madhavan congratulate D Gukesh on becoming World Chess Champion

India’s D Gukesh made history by defeating defending champion Ding Liren from China to become the youngest World Chess Champion, surpassing Garry Kasparov’s long-held record. Many Bollywood and South film stars shared their congratulations on social media.

R Madhavan posted on Instagram Stories, “This is how we do it. We win we celebrate. We pray and thank the almighty. World Champion.”

Kamal Haasan shared a picture of Gukesh with the message, “History checkmated! Kudos to @DGukesh for becoming the youngest World Champion in chess history. India beams with pride! Overcoming the opponent’s advantageous white pieces in the final game, speaks volumes of our champions composure and fortitude.”

Gukesh triumphed in Singapore on Thursday, securing the FIDE World Chess Championship title, making him only the second Indian after Viswanathan Anand to win this prestigious title.
