Cabello styled the librarian-inspired look with some very on-theme black eyeglasses and pulled her hair up into a full, swingy ponytail with piecey bangs. The whole look is a bit bookish and a bit bombshell, perfect for an event at the hottest art festival in the world. (Cabello was born in Cuba but spent much of her childhood in Miami, so attending Basel is also kind of like a homecoming for the star. “I love you, 305 till I die,” she wrote in the caption.)
This isn’t the first time Cabello has worn a “business in the front, party in the back” outfit with buttoned-up vibes. In October, she wore a pastel blue button-down shirt with a ‘70s-style brown skirt suit; though it looked like a “day at the office” ’fit from the front, the shirt was almost entirely backless, giving us a peekaboo “pop” depending on how she moved.
It is also not the first time Cabello has played with lace and transparency lately. A few days before, also during Miami Art Week, she attended a Nylon event wearing a different take on black lace, donning a slip dress featuring spaghetti straps and a bodice with sheer and cutout details
The element of surprise paired with a penchant for risqué shapes and fabrics always keeps us guessing and definitely takes Camila Cabello’s outfits to the next level. What will be next? Only time will tell!
