CINCINNATI kicker Cade York hopes his girlfriend cheers him on – despite being part of the other team.
York signed with the Cincinnati Bengals this week and will travel with the team for their next game.
The Bengals take on the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Monday night.
York, 23, revealed this week that his girlfriend is a cheerleader for the Cowboys.
The kicker is in a relationship with Zoe Dale, 22.
The cheerleader has more than 20,000 followers on her Instagram account.
And she regularly posts photos in action from the sidelines as well as selfies with York.
York revealed, “My girlfriend is actually a cheerleader for the Cowboys and she got baptised on Sunday so that was awesome.
“Literally the next day I got a call that I was going to work out for the Bengals and they were playing on Monday.
“I was like ‘Well Zoe, I will see you at home no matter what.'”
When asked if Zoe would be cheering against him, he laughed, “She’s going to be cheering for me.
“She’s already told me second and fourth quarter is when she’s on the visitor side.
“I’ll have to sneak her a couple of smiles.”
Dale confirmed her allegiances in a post on social media.
She wrote on her Instagram stories, “Go Cade and Go Cowboys.”
York is in his third season in the league having been selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He won the national championship in college with Joe Burrow’s LSU team in 2019.
But York is yet to settle in the NFL having bounced around teams.
He started with the Cleveland Browns in 2022.
In 2023 he was part of the Tennessee Titans and the New York Giants.
This year he returned to the Browns on their practice squad before landing a shot with the Washington Commanders.
But York was cut after missing two field goals in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 9.
He was a free agent for almost three months when he finally landed on the Bengals squad this week.
