Despite her kids finishing school four years ago, one mom still receives calls from the office for an unexpected and hilarious reason that has viewers cracking up.
One day TikTok user @kayleyfurness received an unexpected call from the school about her needing to come and pick up something left behind. Confusion set in as none of her kids attend that school and they haven’t in four years, but then it dawned on her: the cat, Monty, went for a visit.
The owner has outdoor cats all of which have different limits of travel. Her other cats don’t venture far, but Monty found his second home at the school. He visits daily as he tries to earn a perfect attendance record. She told Newsweek via TikTok that she knows people who work at the school and they’ll send her photos and videos of him there. Only recently has the school needed to call her to pick up Monty.
In her November 21 TikTok video, she drove to the school and sat in her car outside waiting. An employee walked out of the build escorting Monty. Laughing at the situation, she watched Monty proudly stomp toward her like he completed another day at school. He had zero regrets.
It was only the second time the school called her to come and pick him up, however, it was twice in one week, she said. So much for thinking her days at the pick-up line were over. She’s about to be there daily as Monty will only continue going to further his education.
The TikTok video amassed over 1.7 million views, 159,800 likes and 877 comments as of Monday. Viewers couldn’t stop laughing at the cat’s determination for perfect attendance.
“He’s like, ‘Oh hi mum! Great day at school,'” joked one person.
Another pointed out: “The way the cat is just trotting down to the car.”
A third user wrote: “I’ve watched this so many times and just getting funnier.. not the cat getting escorted off the premises.”
Thankfully, he was spotted at school. She explained in a comment on the video that someone saw him jump into a box. He might’ve been locked in the school for the night if that person didn’t catch him sneaking off.
