A HIGH school hockey player shared precious moments with his friends before tragically dying during a charity game.

He experienced a “sudden medical event” at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center in Bethpage and later died at the hospital, Massapequa High School administration confirmed.
Brave onlookers rushed to the ice to try and perform life-saving measures, but it wasn’t enough.

“His passing is devastating to the Massapequa community, and we offer our deepest condolences to Connor’s family and friends,” the administration said.
It’s unclear exactly what led to Kasin’s sudden death.
Months before his death, the hockey player shared a now-heartbreaking post showing off the fun he had with friends this summer.
The carousel of pictures showed Kasin smiling with dozens of friends as they went to breakfast, hung out at parties, and made trips to the beach.
Devastated friends have flooded the comments with prayers and condolences.
Dozens of people wrote “rest in peace,” as others said they were thinking of his family.
“Fly high, bro. God bless,” one friend wrote.
Congressman Anthony D’Esposito, who represents Nassau County, also shared his devastation over the news.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Connor’s family & the entire Massapequa community as they mourn this terrible loss,” he wrote on X.
TRAGEDY DEEPENS
Kasin took to the ice on Saturday to honor another athlete, Sabrina Navaretta, who died in a car accident at just 19 years old last year.

He was a third-generation Massapequa High student and was excited to play his final season with his classmates.
However, family and friends know him best for his caring and kind nature off the ice.
Kasin, “spoke softly and carried with him a smile that warmed every room he entered,” the obituary said.
“He was at the center of so many hearts, a role model to his siblings, a joy to his parents and grandparents, and a treasure to his aunts, uncles, and cousins.”
Kasin is survived by his parents Mary and Craig Kasin, his brothers Christian and Cole, his grandparents, and money other extended family members.
“As we mourn the loss of our beloved Connor, we take solace knowing that he will forever skate in our hearts, his passion living in every life he touched,” the obituary reads.
“Rest in peace dear sweet Connor. You will be missed more than words can ever say.”
Connor Kasin’s obituary
In loving memory of Connor Kasin.
It is with profound sadness that we share the untimely passing of Connor Kasin, beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate and friend. Connor left us too soon, doing what he loved most, on the ice playing hockey surrounded by his teammates.
A native of Massapequa, NY, his passion for hockey started from the moment he was old enough to hold a stick. Connor started skating almost from the time he was able to walk, progressing from Town of Oyster Bay youth hockey to play travel league hockey. But the jersey he prized wearing the most was that of his high school team, the Massapequa Chiefs. As a proud third generation family of Chiefs, Connor earned a spot on the varsity team as a sophomore and was looking forward to his senior season. On the ice he was known for his determination, boundless energy and fierce defending, but even more so as a beacon of sportsmanship and leadership. A lifelong NY Islander fan, his love for the sport was only rivaled by his love for, and from, the people in his life.
Off the ice, Connor was a kind and caring young man, who spoke softly and carried with him a smile that warmed every room he entered. He cherished spending time with his family, from their many journeys and countless miles logged together as a full time hockey family, to their annual retreat to Mexico, where they enjoyed a peaceful break and quiet time together. He was at the center of so many hearts, a role model to his siblings, a joy to his parents and grandparents, and a treasure to his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Connor is survived by his loving and proud parents Mary and Craig Kasin, retired Nassau Country P.D, his bothers Christian and Cole, his grandparents, Bruce and Mary-Ann Kasin, his beloved great grandmother, Honey, a large loving extended family of 12 aunts, 13 uncles, & 25 first cousins, and classmates, teammates and coaches, all who loved him dearly.
Calling hours to remember Connor will be held at Massapequa FFuneral Home South Chapel, Wednesday December 4th from 7-9PM, and Thursday December 5th from 2-4 PM and 7-9PM. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church in Seaford, NY, with burial to follow St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
As we mourn the loss of our beloved Connor, we take solace knowing that he will forever skate in our hearts, his passion living in every life he touched, Rest in peace dear sweet Connor. You will be missed more than words can ever say.
