To make things easier for struggling shoppers, the discount retailer is helping people to save money during the holidays.

Starting on Sunday, December 1st, Dollar General will offer daily discounts on a different featured item each day.

The savings event will run until December 24th, and are in addition to the 6,000 items which are already on offer, as part of the Decked Out In Deals promotion.

“With the stress of fewer shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, we wanted to find a fun way for our customers to plan for and capture upcoming deep discounts on hot items,” said Emily Taylor, DG’s executive vice president, chief merchandising officer.

“The 24 Days of Savings is a unique holiday promotional campaign for DG and is in addition to all the great savings already available in-store on electronics, appliances, gift wrapping, trees and more.”

During the 24 Days of Savings, the deals for the upcoming week will be announced on Sunday mornings, via the myDG app, Dollar General’s social media, DG.com 24 Days of Savings landing page, and in-store signage.

Some of the bargains on offer include:

  • $1 sale on all $3 holiday mugs
  • Buy 1, Get 1 Free True Living® everyday plates or bowls
  • 50% off 36-inch tower speaker system
  • 2 for $6 Smithfield® 12 oz. bacon

The offers are available at all of Dollar Generals 20,000 stores across the US, and products are available while stocks last.

The store is also offering Americans a number of Thanksgiving deals this year.

Among the offerings is a meal deal that will offer people a chance to enjoy the holiday at an affordable price.

The “buy two, get one free” bundle allows shoppers to mix and match “traditional” Thanksgiving dishes to make a feast at a low price, per a Tuesday press release.

Ingredients used to make green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole, crescent rolls, and more will qualify for the bundle promotion.

Many start at only $1 through Dollar General, including select variations of Clover Valley canned vegetables, where you’d get three considering the “buy two, get one free” deal.
