Diddy Hit With Five New Lawsuits: More Coming ‘Weekly’

The lawyer representing several people who have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual abuse announced five new lawsuits against the rapper on Tuesday.

“The Buzbee Law Firm, along with co-counsel AVA Law Group and New York local counsel Curis Law, is filing five more cases today alleging aggravated sexual assault, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and those entities with whom he has been affiliated,” attorney Tony Buzbee announced on Instagram.

He added that “several other individuals are referenced in the case filings but are not at this time formerly named as defendants. The cases are being brought for conduct that occurred as far back as the year 2001.”

Buzbee said the conduct alleged in the lawsuits took place in New York and Miami. He added that three of the alleged victims are men and two are women.

“We will let the allegations in the filed complaints speak for themselves, and will work to see that justice is done,” the post said. “We expect to be filing cases weekly naming Mr. Combs and others as defendants as we continue to gather evidence and prepare the filings.”

Newsweek has reached out to Combs’ lawyer for comment.

The rapper was arrested in September and charged in Manhattan federal court with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

“As alleged in the Indictment, for years, Sean Combs used the business empire he controlled to sexually abuse and exploit women, as well as to commit other acts of violence and obstruction of justice,” Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a statement. “Today, he is charged with racketeering and sex trafficking offenses. If you have been a victim of Combs’ alleged abuse – or if you know anything about his alleged crimes – we urge you to come forward. This investigation is far from over.”

Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges and his trial is scheduled for May. Combs is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial.

Buzbee revealed last month that he was representing more than 100 of Combs’ alleged victims. His announcement on Tuesday came after he was sued this week and accused of carrying out an “extortionate plot.”

The suit was brought by an anonymous John Doe and filed Monday in Los Angeles. It accuses Buzbee and his firm of “shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums from him or else publicly file wildly false horrific allegations against him.”

It also alleges that Buzbee and his firm “threatened to unleash entirely fabricated and malicious allegations of sexual assault—including multiple instances of rape of a minor, both male and female—against Plaintiff if he refuses to comply with their demands” for money.

Buzbee told ABC News in a statement that the “frivolous” lawsuit was “not only without legal merit” but also “laughable.”
