A TALENT show featuring Liam Payne is now on hold until Netflix has spoken to the singer’s family in the wake of his tragic death.
The former One Direction star wrapped filming on Building The Band in August — just two months before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina.
Liam was a mentor on the show with former Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger and Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child, helping 50 singers compete for a chance to form a band.
A source said: “It is too soon to make a decision, but the show has definitely not been shelved.
“Filming was completed at the end of summer.
“Netflix will sit down with Liam’s family when the time is right to speak about the series and when it could be released.
“Everyone involved is devastated and their heart goes out to his family.
“There is no rush or pressure to release the series.
“It would simply be a beautiful tribute to Liam and capture him at his best in the months before his death.”
The competition — hosted by Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean — culminated in three live shows that were filmed in the summer at Manchester’s Aviva Studios.
Unlike other talent searches, the singers had to connect solely on musical compatibility and chemistry ahead of meeting.
It is understood contestants were isolated in booths before they finally came face to face with each other.
Earlier this year, executive producer Cat Lawson described the series as a “brave and bold undertaking”.
He added: “We hand over power to the singers themselves to form their own band based on chemistry first.
“With looks out of the equation, can they create a deeper connection with their bandmates?”
Following Liam’s death, Nicole shared on Instagram a collection of behind-the-scenes selfies featuring him and Kelly.
Paying tribute to Liam, she said: “It was a blessing to get to work with you recently.
“We shared the same love and passion for music and I will forever remember the meaningful and joyful conversations we had.”
Fans who were in the audience in Manchester took to X to share selfies with Liam taken at filming for the live shows.
One, named Lauren, wrote: “Liam was so sweet.”
Another added: “Meeting Liam . . . was the best thing ever!!
“He held my hand and gave me his most precious smile.”
It seems Liam’s fans would love nothing more than to see him on screen doing what he loved most.
Glass act Pixie putting on the Spritz
PIXIE LOTT put a refreshing twist on Halloween – dressed as an Aperol spritz cocktail.
The Mama Do singer mixed fun with glamour at a costume bash in top London celebrity haunt, Annabel’s.
Elsewhere, at the Hallowzeem party in Conduit, Laura Whitmore was Julia Roberts’ character Vivian from Pretty Woman, Leigh Francis peeked from a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Bob outfit and Doctor Who’s Yasmin Finney rocked up as a sexy cave girl.
Lottie Moss gave vampire vibes while Strictly’s Janette Manrara looked the picture of innocence as Snow White.
Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway was a spooky Statue of Liberty and Halle Berry met an evil clown.
But didn’t they all look BOO-tiful?
She’s Jess so in love
JESS GLYNNE could not take the smile off her face or her eyes off girlfriend Alex Scott during her debut Las Vegas show.
The Hold My Hand singer spoke of her “love” for her family during her show at Voltaire in The Venetian Resort on Friday.
Before performing her 2015 hit Take Me Home, Jess told the audience about her commitment to football pundit Alex and how much she has missed her while on the road with her band in the US.
The London-born singer said: “My mum and dad are here and my beautiful girlfriend, who have all come over from the UK.
“And the next song I’m going to sing is called Take Me Home.
“When you’re on the road it’s the most beautiful thing.
“But then, obviously, family and friends and love – it’s hard to be away from it.
“When you see those people that mean so much to you, I feel like they mean even more.
“It’s crazy but it’s beautiful and I appreciate them. And I love them.”
Alex was spotted dancing in the audience and cheered when Jess gave a perfect rendition of hit I’ll Be There.
The Sun revealed last year that the former England player and the singer had been quietly dating after they were spotted watching the tennis at Wimbledon.
Reflecting on the end of her US tour, Jess was emotional about her Vegas night.
She said: “It’s been such an incredible few weeks.
“We’re coming to the end and it’s amazing to be here, to be in this room, in Vegas.
“It’s kind of very surreal for all of us, right?
“It feels like all of those box tick moments.”
Jess now joins the list of stunning talent, including Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera, who have headlined Voltaire.
Talk about girl power.
Can you spy tubby Tom?
HE may have finished filming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two in the UK earlier this month, but Tom Cruise isn’t leaving our shores just yet.
I can reveal the actor will don a fat suit for a top secret movie project called Punch & Judy – which, despite the name, has nothing to do with the British seaside puppet show.
Action man Tom – famous for doing his own stunts – will play burly businessman Punch, while Judy is the name given to a giant iceberg with the potential to cause mass destruction.
The dark comedy is already in pre-production in London.
A telly source said: “The film details are under lock and key.
“The title has even been kept off IMDB.
“It’s a different direction for Tom, but something he is keen to do.
“He will be totally unrecognisable in face prosthetics and will look overweight.”
It sounds like the visual trans-formation will be a real Mission.
CHANNEL 4 is attempting to replicate the success of ITV’s My Mum, Your Dad with a similar dating show.
I have been told that a show titled Single Mum Street is being made as a pilot.
It follows in the footsteps of the ITV series hosted by Davina McCall that features grown-up children helping their parents go on dates.
A source said: “The series will focus on single mums – and unlike the ITV show, the kids can be as young as 13.”
I am told the makers are the team behind The Dog House where people are matched with their dream pooch.
SPIDER-MAN star Tom Holland has confessed he is a “numpty” when it comes to the launching of his new non-alcoholic beer.
The London-born actor revealed he was clueless during planning and strategy meetings for his new brand Bero.
He said: “It’s been a really fun process for me.
“It’s been very daunting.
“It’s no secret that I’m pretty uneducated.
“I would find myself in these boardrooms with all these suits, CEOs, CPOs, COOs, then attorneys and lawyers.
“And then there is me there – an absolute numpty.”
