The Super Bowl champs found themselves at 1st and goal on the four-yard line just a few minutes into the second quarter.

And with a chance to run it in from such a short distance, head coach Reid set his team up in a stunning formation to fool the San Fran defense.

Running back Kareem Hunt, tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback duo Patrick Mahomes and Carson Wentz lined up behind the offensive line.

The confusing setup left the 49ers scratching their heads as to who the ball would be snapped to.

Ultimately it was Wentz who received the ball and then quickly offloaded it to Hunt to make a dart for the end zone.

The former Browns RB found an opening thanks to a block from Kelce but was ultimately brought down at the one-yard line.

Hunt then ran in the final yard on 2nd and goal, putting up the Chiefs’ first points of the game.

Fans spotted the ridiculous play and reacted online, gushing about how creative the Chiefs offense were.

One wrote: “Look how confused the 49ers defense looks.”

While another added: “Talk about a wild formation! Mahomes, Kelce, Hunt, AND Wentz all on the field at once—can we call this one of the boldest setups ever?”

A third gushed about Reid, writing: “I continued to be amazed by his ability to innovate and create new formations, plays, and more. Nobody does it like Andy Reid.”

And a fourth posted: “Reid and the Chiefs just do more inventive stuff than others. It gives them an edge.”

Andy Reid has become well-known for his outside the box thinking at the Chiefs with players like Mahomes and Kelce often encouraged to get creative and play laterals.

And it has certainly worked with the Chiefs currently on a mission to become the first NFL team in history to win three Super Bowls on the bounce.

They took another step towards achieving that goal on Sunday with their victory over the 49ers.

The repeat of last year’s Super Bowl saw Mahomes get the better of Purdy once again as the Chiefs extended their flawless start to the season to 6-0.

Speaking on the victory, Mahomes said: “It was a battle — but it was fun.

“We always have a good time, regardless. Sometimes it isn’t easy. But there’s always energy, and it’s always fun.”
