Belichick appeared on ESPN alongside the broadcast’s hosts and NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning during the second quarter.

The former NFL coach and quarterbacks discussed the Jets firing of head coach Robert Saleh last week.

Belichick scolded Jets decision to fire Saleh, and even called out Johnson in the process.

“I’m not a big Jets fan, in case you don’t know that,” he told the Manning brothers.

“You know what, coach Saleh did a good job with that program …

“That’s kinda what it’s been there with the Jets.

“They’ve barely won over 30% in the last 10 years.

“The owner being the owner … ready, fire aim.”

The Jets fired Saleh after the team’s 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London.

The loss gave the Jets a 2-3 record and Saleh ended his tenure with a 20-36 record.

The Jets lost to the Bills by a score of 23-20 in the team’s first game under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.

Many of the issues under Saleh also occurred in the Monday contest.

The Jets were called for 11 penalties and were 1-of-4 on red zone opportunities.

Kicker Greg Zuerlein missed two field goals and veteran star quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw a game-ending interception for the second straight week.

The Jets have lost three straight games.

Belichick criticized the Jets after being the head coach of the organization for one day before bolting to join the Patriots.

He went on to win six Super Bowls with New England before parting ways with the franchise in 2024 after 23 seasons with the team.

The Jets haven’t made the postseason since 2010.

They will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7 on Sunday Night Football.
